Inspiring Global Women For Growth event

Working in an international context and gaining international experience throughout their career is now of vital importance for women leaders. At our exclusive Think Women Event on March 10, 2023, we will be exploring ‘Inspiring Global Women for Growth’.

Hosted at the prestigious Institute of Directors (IoD) London, is an opportunity to come together with leaders across the international business and global mobility community. Our keynote speaker this year is Dr Anino Emuwa, Founder and Managing Director of Avandis Consulting, a strategy and financial advisory firm in France, and the founder of 100 Women@Davos a community of impact-driven women CEOs, leaders, and change-makers originally launched in Davos in January 2019.

An inspiring leader driven by making a real impact

Dr Emuwa’s focus is on diversity and inclusion. She is a Regional Lead for Cartier Women’s Initiative which drives change by empowering women impact entrepreneurs. She also sits on several international advisory boards including  Reykjavik Global Community, a network of women leaders and their allies working to ensure that more women attain and retain power, and Empower Now which helps companies and organisations gain a real-time overview of the status of DEI within the workplace.

In her keynote speech she will be discussing how, with emerging technology, we now have the opportunities to rewrite the workplace and make it more diverse and inclusive. She will explore why working in an international context and gaining international experience throughout their career is important for women leaders and how to leverage that opportunity. She will also be discussing how women’s career path can be different from men’s and how to overcome unconscious bias in all interactions. From a business angle, she will be looking how women in leadership positions can make a greater ESG impact and can de-risk a business and help it connect more closely with its diverse customer base.

Supporting equality in leadership for women around the world

100 Women@Davos supports United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (UNSDG) 5 Target 5.5 to: “ensure women’s full and effective participation and equal opportunities for leadership”.  Dr Emuwa is also the founder of the Africa Women CEOs Network and has more than 25 years’ experience in corporate banking and international management consulting. A former corporate banker with Citibank, she now sits on a number of boards as a non-executive director, including the Board of Governors of Nottingham Trent University.

Born in Nigeria, she has lived in six countries and is bilingual in English and French. Dr Emuwa completed her Doctorate in Business Administration at Nottingham Business School. She holds an MBA from Cranfield School of Management and a BSc Economics from the London School of Economics. Dr Emuwa is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and a member of the Institute of Directors.
