Scotney Castle (Right next door to the venue) – Scotney Castle is an English country house with formal gardens south-east of Lamberhurst in the valley of the River Bewl in Kent, England.

Bayham Old Abbey (2.5 miles from the venue) – Bayham Old Abbey is an impressive ruin, built from golden local sandstone, include much of the 13th to 15th-century church, the chapter house, and a picturesque 14th-century gatehouse.

Pashley Manor Gardens (5.6 miles from the vnue)– The original house at Pashley was on the moated island and was probably a hunting lodge.  This house was owned at the outset of the Wars of the Roses by Sir Geoffrey Boleyn, Lord Mayor of London in 1457 and great-grandfather of Anne Boleyn.

Sissinghurst Castle Garden (10 miles from the venue)– Sissinghurst Castle Garden is located in the village of Sissinghurst in Kent, about 9 miles from us. Former home of the best-selling novelist, Vita Sackville-West, and her husband, author, diplomat and politician, Harold Nicolson, it is known as one of the most beautiful gardens in the world. June is considered the best time of year to visit Sissinghurst, as the bright colours of the rose garden should be in peak bloom.

Bodiam Castle (10 miles from the venue)– Bodiam Castle is a 14th-century moated castle near Robertsbridge in East Sussex, England. It was built in 1385 by Sir Edward Dalyngrigge, a former knight of Edward III, with the permission of Richard II, ostensibly to defend the area against French invasion during the Hundred Years’ War.

Batemans (10 miles  from the venue)– Bateman’s is a 17th century house set in the stunning landscape of the Sussex Weald. Bought by Rudyard Kipling and his wife, who fell in love with the house at first sight, it became a family home.

Penshurst Place and Gardens (15 miles  from the venue) – Penshurst Place was built in 1341 and described as “the grandest and most perfectly preserved example of a fortified manor house in all England”.

Smallhythe Place (18 miles from the venue)– Smallhythe Place is in the tiny hamlet of Small Hythe, about 20 miles from us. Set in idyllic countryside, this is the former home of Dame Ellen Terry, the most famous and distinguished English-speaking actress of Victorian times. Smallhythe is a treasure-trove of interesting theatrical memorabilia, including Terry and Sir Henry Irving’s costume collections – and plays are often performed by professional theatre troups in the Barn Theatre on the property.

Hever Castle and Gardens (17 miles from the venue)– Hever Castle is located in the village of Hever, Kent, near Edenbridge, 30 miles south-east of London, England. It began as a country house, built in the 13th century. From 1462 to 1539, it was the seat of the Boleyn family.

Knole Park (19 miles from the venue)– Knole Park is a 383.4-hectare (947-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Sevenoaks in Kent. About 43 acres of the park belongs to the National Trust, as does Knole House, which sits within it. The remaining parkland is privately owned by the Knole Estate. It is in the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
