About the webinar

In this session, viewers will discover how The International School of Kuala Lumpur (ISKL) weaves sustainability into the very fabric of daily school life and its curriculum. The discussion will explore how faculty, operations teams, and students collaborate to champion an environmental ethos, from campus-wide initiatives like Earth Week to classroom learning. Furthermore, the session will delve into ISKL’s structured, deeply collaborative approach to establishing sustainable, reciprocal partnerships with local NGOs and community organizations that align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

We discuss:

  1. How does ISKL’s commitment to an environmental ethos and service learning prepare students to be responsible global citizens?
  2. How do you successfully embed sustainability both into daily campus operations—like waste minimization or achieving Green Flag accreditation—and into the academic curriculum across all divisions?
  3. Bringing sustainability to life requires a team effort. Can you share how different departments, from Operations and Facilities to the Advancement team, collaborate with teachers to run major initiatives like Earth Week?
  4. Setting up meaningful community partnerships is a core part of ISKL’s culture. How does the school collaboratively vet and establish “Partners in Learning” agreements with NGOs to ensure they align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and provide reciprocal benefits?
  5. How do student club advisors and operational staff collaborate to empower students to safely and meaningfully lead these community service and fundraising initiatives?
  6. What is one thing that makes ISKL’s approach to sustainability and community partnership truly special for a student’s lifelong development?
